Medical Imaging and Radiation Sciences

The Department of Medical Imaging and Radiation Sciences includes undergraduate and graduate programs focused in the art of medical imaging and radiation therapy. Our programs are programmatically accredited and recognized nationally through our outstanding faculty and educational curricula. This is an exciting time to work in these healthcare professions! Within our professions, we work with the most advanced and sophisticated equipment, using critical judgment to produce diagnostic images and ensure safe and effective therapeutic interventions. Our Department values its place within the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center where our students and faculty participate in interprofessional activities in preparation of the current healthcare environment. Students and graduates work with a diversity of physicians including radiologists, radiation oncologists, cardiologists, urologists, emergency medicine physicians, obstetricians/ gynecologists, and family practice physicians

Sonography Program Alumnae Announced as Newest Fellow Members in Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonography

The OUHSC sonography program is proud to announce alumnae Sharlette Anderson, MHS, RDMS, RDCS, RVT (1989) and Talisha Hunt, BSRT, RDMS, RDCS, RVT (2005) are the newest Fellow Members in the Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonography. 

“The SDMS Fellow Membership category recognizes the lifetime achievement of individual members who have made outstanding contributions to the field of sonography and to the SDMS. An SDMS Fellow exhibits outstanding professional accomplishments as well as continued membership and sustained engagement in SDMS activities.”

Ms. Anderson and Ms. Hunt will be formally inducted as fellow members at the Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonography Awards Banquet held in conjunction with the Annual Conference later this month in Atlanta, GA.
