Established in 1970, the University of Oklahoma College of Allied Health educates health professionals who contribute to the well‑being of individuals and communities across Oklahoma and beyond. Based at the OU Health Campus, the College provides interdisciplinary education grounded in clinical practice, discovery, and service.
Today, the College offers 15 academic programs, including undergraduate, professional, graduate, and certificate pathways across a broad range of allied health disciplines. These programs prepare students for careers in rehabilitation and therapeutic services, communication and swallowing sciences, diagnostic and medical imaging, nutrition and wellness, and health systems leadership, with an emphasis on collaboration within multidisciplinary health care teams.
The College plays a distinctive role in meeting the state’s health care workforce needs. Physical Therapy is offered on both the Oklahoma City and Tulsa campuses, expanding access to professional education while maintaining consistent academic and clinical standards. In addition, programs such as Audiology, Occupational Therapy, Speech‑Language Pathology, Dietetics, Nuclear Medicine, Radiation Therapy, Sonography, and Radiography support essential diagnostic, rehabilitative, and therapeutic services across the lifespan. Several of these programs—including Audiology, Nuclear Medicine, and Radiation Therapy—serve a unique statewide mission as the only programs of their kind in Oklahoma.
Faculty in the College of Allied Health are engaged in teaching, scholarship, clinical practice, and community partnership. Through its academic programs and continuing education efforts, the College remains committed to preparing knowledgeable, compassionate professionals and advancing health and quality of life for the communities it serves.
