Sonography Students Win Literature Awards

Congratulations to 2020 Sonography Graduates, Dana Taylor and Tiara Scott, for their achievements in the Journal of Diagnostic Medical Sonography’s W. Frederick Sample Student Excellence Paper Competition!


Dana Taylor received 1st place for her literature review paper titled “Comparing the Use of Myocardial Contrast Echocardiography to Myocardial Perfusion Imaging in the Detection of Coronary Artery Disease”

 

Tiara Scott received 2nd place for her literature review paper titled “Echocardiographic Tools for Assessing Chemotherapy-Induced Cardiotoxicity”


This accomplishment marks the 4th year in a row that the OU MIRS Sonography program has swept the literature review category for this award!   

The W. Frederick Sample Student Excellence Award was established by the Journal of Diagnostic Medical Sonography in memory of Dr. Frederick Sample to acknowledge outstanding achievement in the field of diagnostic medical sonography and to encourage students to submit original research and literature review papers for publication.
