The HSC community is invited to join OUHSC African American Student Association for the annual Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration on Tuesday, January 18th, 2022, from Noon–1 pm. The celebration event will take place in the College of Allied Health, room 1117, (1200 N. Stonewall Ave). Additionally, zoom participation is an option for those who want to attend virtually. This year’s celebration will feature keynote speaker Cece Jones-Davis.

She is passionate about racial healing, women and girls’ issues, and criminal justice reform. Cece facilitates anti-racism training for nonprofit and faith-based organizations and is a 2021 Heartland Emmy Award Nominee for her work in co-hosting Painful History, Evolving Future on the KFOR news channel. In 2019, she received the Phil Wahl Abolitionist of the Year Award by the Oklahoma Coalition to Abolish the Death Penalty (OCADP), and a Special Congressional Recognition for her efforts in civil rights and social justice.

Please plan to join us for this cornerstone event of the HSC calendar. Masks are required, and individual boxed lunches will be provided as a take-away option for the first 120 attendees.
