Assistant/Associate Professor - Nutritional Sciences

Position Description: The Department of Nutritional Sciences is expanding through a new initiative where successful candidates will establish (tenure-track, Assistant Professor) or maintain (tenure eligible, Associate Professor) a strong extramurally-funded research program focused on investigating human nutrition. Areas of interest include, but are not limited to, molecular mechanisms of micronutrient and macronutrient function in human health; gut microbiome; precision nutrition; nutritional interventions impacting diabetes, cancer, or health span; community nutrition; food security and safety; and performance nutrition. We are particularly interested in candidates that complement and expand existing expertise within the Department and through engaging campus partners. These partners include the Harold Hamm Diabetes Center, Stephenson Cancer Center, Oklahoma Center for Geoscience and Healthy Brain Aging, and a growing neuroscience initiative. Successful candidates will be expected to participate in teaching, mentoring, and training of graduate and professional students.

Areas of interest include, but are not limited to, molecular mechanisms of micronutrient and macronutrient function in human health; gut microbiome; precision nutrition; nutritional interventions impacting diabetes, cancer, or health span; community nutrition; food security and safety; and performance nutrition. We are particularly interested in candidates who compliment and expand existing expertise within the Department, engage campus partners, and demonstrate leadership and mentoring skills. Campus partners include the Harold Hamm Diabetes Center, Stephenson Cancer Center, Oklahoma Center for Geoscience and Healthy Brain Aging, and a growing neuroscience initiative. Successful candidates will be expected to participate in teaching, mentoring, and training of graduate and professional students and mentoring junior faculty.
