The Interprofessional Sonography (IPS) Laboratory serves as a multidisciplinary hub for ultrasound education and research. Equipped with nine top tier ultrasound systems, adjustable patient beds, and ergonomic chairs, the laboratory provides a flexible environment for experiential learning, skills assessment, and simulation-based training. In addition serving as a space for educational innovation, the IPS lab supports a robust platform for research and interdisciplinary collaboration, contributing to the advancement of healthcare practice and patient care.
The IPS Laboratory serves as a multidisciplinary educational resource, supporting a diverse range of health professions programs through hands-on learning experiences, simulation-based instruction, skills acquisition, and curriculum development. The laboratory collaborates with faculty and program leaders to design and implement innovative educational activities that prepare learners for clinical practice.
To supplement these educational initiatives, the IPS Laboratory offers proctored scanning sessions throughout the year. These sessions provide learners with dedicated opportunities to practice and refine ultrasound scanning skills. Students should register in advance, bring a scanning partner (another student or model), and utilize self-directed learning materials during their scheduled session. Advance registration is required.
The IPS lab can also be reserved for private educational or research activities. Should the individual college faculty and staff plan to teach the educational activity or run the research activity, please complete a room request form to check lab availability.
