The Interprofessional Sonography (IPS) Laboratory offers 9 imaging stations equipped with top tier ultrasound systems, adjustable patient beds, and ergonomic work chairs. Each imaging station offers standard transducer selections to perform abdominal, small parts, vascular, OB/GYN, and adult echocardiography. Additional, limited specialty, transducer selections are available including 3D/4D, endocavity, and musculoskeletal. Large display monitors, mobile laptop carts, and ultrasound simulation phantoms are also available to enhance learner’s laboratory experiences.
IPS proctored laboratory sessions are offered throughout the year for all learners on campus to practice their individual scanning. When student’s sign-up for a proctored-lab session they should plan to bring someone to scan (another student or model) and self-guided materials. Students should sign-up for a proctored scan time in advance; if there is no one signed up within 24 hours of an open scanning session the session will be canceled without notification.
The IPS lab can also be reserved for private educational or research activities. Should the individual college faculty and staff plan to teach the educational activity or run the research activity, please complete a room request form to check lab availability. The IPS lab is located in the College of Allied Health Building room 1037. Visitors without badge access should enter through the front doors of the college.
