Transfer Equivalencies

Before applying, prospective students should review the prerequisite requirements for their intended program (if applicable) on the program’s webpage and complete a self‑evaluation of their transcripts and coursework.

The University of Oklahoma’s Transfer Equivalencies Database (TED) is available to help students identify coursework from other institutions that may be considered equivalent to OU requirements. Because coursework and degree plans vary widely by institution, prospective students should work closely with an academic advisor at their current institution to develop a plan that meets all admission requirements.

Please note that the College of Allied Health is unable to identify, pre‑approve, or recommend specific courses from other institutions prior to application. If you have completed coursework that does not appear in the Transfer Equivalencies Database—or believe a course should be considered for a prerequisite—you may submit a course petition. Information about the petition process is available through the Recruitment & Admissions Office.

Submitting Supporting Materials

Applications are not considered complete until all required materials have been received, including official transcripts from all attended institutions.

Applicants to all programs except those listed below should follow the instructions provided by the Recruitment & Admissions Office for submitting supporting documentation to the University of Oklahoma Health campus.

Applicants to the programs listed below use a Centralized Application Service (CAS) and should follow the instructions provided by their respective CAS system. For these programs, all supporting materials should be submitted directly through the CAS, and do not need to be sent separately to the OU Health campus unless otherwise directed.

Programs Using a Centralized Application Service:

  • Master of Arts in Speech-Language Pathology — CSDCAS
  • Doctor of Audiology — CSDCAS
  • Doctor of Occupational Therapy — OTCAS
  • Doctor of Physical Therapy — PTCAS
  • Master of Arts in Dietetics — DICAS
  • Dietetic Internship — DICAS

Kira Talent Interview Assessment

Most programs in the College of Allied Health require completion of a Kira Talent Interview Assessment as part of the application process. This assessment helps programs evaluate applicants beyond academic metrics by reviewing key professional competencies.

The Kira Talent assessment is an online, asynchronous interview completed on your own schedule. There are no live interviewers; responses are recorded and reviewed after submission.

  • Applicants to PTCAS, OTCAS, and CSDCAS programs complete the assessment within their centralized application.
  • Applicants to all other programs receive an email invitation after submitting their application.

While the assessment may be completed at any time once available, an application is not considered complete until the Kira assessment has been submitted.

Assessment Format

The Kira Talent assessment includes:

  • Three (3) video‑recorded questions
  • One (1) written response question
  • One passive competency rating assessing overall communication

Instructions and timing details are provided within the Kira platform prior to beginning the assessment.

Competencies Evaluated

Reviewers evaluate applicants across the following areas:

  • Integrity and Ethics (video): Demonstrates honesty, ethical judgment, accountability, and integrity under pressure.
  • Growth Mindset / Ability to Grow (written): Shows openness to feedback, resilience, and a commitment to learning and self‑improvement.
  • Self‑Reflective (video): Demonstrates self‑awareness, the ability to reflect on experiences, and an openness to personal growth.
  • Collaboration / Teamwork (video): Works effectively with others, balances leadership and collaboration, and values diverse perspectives.
  • Overall Communication (passive): Communicates clearly and professionally in written and spoken responses.

Admissions Statistics

Admission to programs within the College of Allied Health is based on a holistic review of each application. Selection criteria may include, but are not limited to, cumulative and science GPAs, interviews, and other program‑specific factors. In addition, each admissions cycle is unique, as decisions are influenced by the size and overall strength of the applicant pool in a given year.

Admissions statistics can be helpful for understanding how previously admitted applicants performed academically; however, they should not be interpreted as minimum requirements or guarantees of admission. Meeting or exceeding prior averages does not ensure admission, and applicants below these averages may still be competitive based on the full review of their application.

The statistics below reflect average values for applicants admitted during the most recent admissions cycle for each listed program. Because these figures represent averages across an entire cohort, individual admitted students fell both above and below the reported metrics. Applicants may use this information to identify potential areas for academic improvement. To assist with planning, the OU GPA Calculator may be used to estimate how additional coursework could impact a current GPA.

If a program is not listed below, admission decisions are made on a case‑by‑case basis for applicants who meet the published minimum requirements.

Definitions

  • Cumulative GPA
GPA calculated using all attempted coursework from all institutions attended.
  • Science GPA
GPA calculated using coursework designated as science‑based by the OU Health Campus.
Programs that use a Centralized Application Service (CAS) calculate Science GPA according to that system’s definition. Applicants should consult their specific CAS website for details on which courses are included.
  • Last 60 (L60) GPA
GPA calculated using the most recent 60 credit hours of attempted coursework.

Please note: The OU Health Campus does not participate in the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education (OSRHE) Academic Forgiveness provisions, including repeat, reprieve, or renewal. All grades earned are included in GPA calculations.
