Medical Imaging and Radiation Sciences

The Department of Medical Imaging and Radiation Sciences includes undergraduate and graduate programs focused in the art of medical imaging and radiation therapy. Our programs are programmatically accredited and recognized nationally through our outstanding faculty and educational curricula. This is an exciting time to work in these healthcare professions! Within our professions, we work with the most advanced and sophisticated equipment, using critical judgment to produce diagnostic images and ensure safe and effective therapeutic interventions. Our Department values its place within the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center where our students and faculty participate in interprofessional activities in preparation of the current healthcare environment. Students and graduates work with a diversity of physicians including radiologists, radiation oncologists, cardiologists, urologists, emergency medicine physicians, obstetricians/ gynecologists, and family practice physicians

Former Sonography Program Graduate Elected to Key Position in Diagnostic Medical Sonography Society

In her esteemed position, West will play a pivotal role in shaping the future leadership of the Society. As part of her responsibilities, she will contribute to the development of a diverse slate of candidates for various elected positions within the organization. This will be presented annually to the society's membership for consideration. Furthermore, West will be instrumental in formulating essential policies and procedures that govern the SDMS nomination and election process. Tiffany West's journey is a testament to the excellence cultivated by the sonography program. Having graduated in 2021, she has gone on to establish herself as a dedicated echocardiographer at The Chickasaw Medical Center in Ada, Oklahoma. Her commitment to the field and her outstanding accomplishments have undoubtedly positioned her to excel in her new role. This notable achievement not only highlights Tiffany West's dedication and expertise but also underscores the strength of the sonography program's legacy in producing exceptional professionals who make a significant impact in the healthcare industry.
