The Advanced Clinical Studies course provides advanced clinical experience in specialty areas of diagnostic imaging. This course gives students opportunities to complete competencies required by certification boards. Students will engage in discussion sessions and follow up quizzes to enhance clinic experiences.
In recent years, there have been new Federal requirements for clinicians in specialty areas to be credentialed. Clinicians need to complete a set number of competencies to sit for the certification examinations. This course will allow clinicians to complete clinic competencies after finishing the structured educational requirement.
To be considered for admission, an applicant must:

be credentialed as RT(R), RT(N), CNMT, or RT(T);

must have completed an approved ARRT structured education requirement prior to application;

submit a letter of reference from the Clinician’s current or previous supervisor;

submit documentation of completion of an approved ARRT structured education requirement. List of approved courses. (www.ARRT.org – ARRT structured education requirement defined);

submit an education goal statement; and
-
submit official, sealed transcripts from all colleges and/or universities attended.

- In the ‘Admission Information’ section of the online application, select College of Allied Health as the College to which you are applying. Then, select Allied Health Undergrad Special Student as the program and select the term. Applicants are required to read the policy for Special Student Conditions and Limitations prior to submission of application.

- The Medical Imaging and Radiation Sciences Admissions Committee will consider applications on an individual basis. If there are any exceptions, those will be made on an individual basis. Students wishing to be considered for Fall admission, must submit their entire application and official, sealed transcripts by June 1. Students wishing to be considered for Spring admission, must submit their entire application and official, sealed transcripts by November 1. Students wishing to be considered for Summer admission, must submit their entire application and official, sealed transcripts by April 1.
Students may expect additional costs that include, but are not limited to, a personal computer, textbooks, lab fees, insurance, and supplies. Students are required to assume financial responsibilities for expenses associated with clinical requirements.
