Dr. Cassie M. Mitchell is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics within the Section of Pediatric Diabetes and Endocrinology at the University of Oklahoma Children's Hospital and TSET Health Promotion Research Center. She is the Director of Nutrition Research for the Harold Hamm Diabetes Center, a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN), and a member of the OUHSC's Stephenson Cancer and Harold Hamm Diabetes Centers.
Dr. Mitchell has more than a decade of training in nutrition, exercise physiology, and health promotion, with a focus on clinical research during pregnancy, postpartum, and infancy. She completed two postdoctoral research fellowships and obtained three grants at local and national levels (HHDC, ADA, and NIH) during her training. Dr. Mitchell is extremely passionate about mentoring under-represented minorities, as she herself is a proud member of the Citizen Potawatomi Nation and a first-generation college graduate.
