Hosted by the Department of Rehabilitation Sciences, the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center and the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation will gather a wide variety of researchers from bench science, clinical laboratories, and clinics across the nation to present exciting and emerging evidence focused on conditions that affect bone, cartilage, muscle, and skin. Our intent is to bring these scientists together to present their work in areas related to mechanotransduction -- the what, how, and why physical, mechanical stresses to which the body is subjected, like those generated by exercise, weight bearing, stretching or blood coursing through arteries -- have been directly linked to effective management of musculoskeletal conditions commonly seen in rehabilitation and medicine.
