OUHSC Graduate and Research Education and Technology (GREAT) Symposium Award Ceremony

At the OUHSC Graduate and Research Education and Technology (GREAT) Symposium Award Ceremony on March 30, 2017, Chelsea Smith, PhD student in the Department of Nutritional Sciences received the Award for Outstanding Research from the Office of Research Administration. During the Symposium Chelsea gave an oral presentation of research titled "Health Care Provider's Role in Obesity Prevention and Healthy Development of Young American Indian Children". This presentation was one part of the "3P" qualitative study, which involves health care providers, parents, and preschool teachers working together to prevent childhood obesity. Her award was presented by Vice President of Research Dr. James Tomasek. A travel scholarship of $1,500 accompanied the award.
