Chelsea Smith - Harold Hamm Research Symposium Award

Congratulations to Chelsea Smith on her recent award from the Harold Hamm Research Symposium.  She placed second in Group B for her poster presentation.  The research symposium show cased all facets of diabetes research from basic to applied, including studies of biomarkers to implementations on the state level. The poster she presented was "Child Care Teacher's Role in Obesity Prevention and Health Development of Young American Indian Children", which was one part of a study involving one on one interviews with child care teachers who worked in tribally affiliated child care centers about their views of healthy development and working with other key people to prevent obesity. This is just one part of the 3P study which involves understanding how Preschools, Parents and Health Care providers could work together to prevent obesity, mainly focused on acting in the preschool setting.
